Keeping the frills. Yet not ready to face the World.

Backward Frills

With my inherent propensity towards neutrals, this book-case needed harmony with my preferred color scheme. What I did today was nothing new. In fact, vaguely remembering backward books displayed through the pages of Restoration Hardware and Ikea, sharing their idea.  Leaving out our favorite coffee-table top like books and prominently displaying them around our Villa, while our previously read favorites were left incognito. Unexpoxed.

I have a lot of what I like to call “house bound time.” Where I’m devoted to arranging and rearranging our household goods. Since moving in nearly two months ago, I’m not feeling completely settled yet. Then again, do I ever really? ADMITTING: I like making changes every couple of months with things we own, keeping our place looking fresh and renewed. Theres nothing wrong with that, right? It’s not like I’m over the top OCD. Just with a broken neck, a recovering bum foot, I’m spending the days around our Villa figuring out what goes where. Everyday.

  1. I have studied a bit of a mix – I did psychology, then I combined that with sociology and international welfare, then I went on to studying child care and welfare. I almost ended up turning all around and study photography – but I ended up thinking that “art photographer” on paper wouldnt bag me too much work haha – how about you?

  2. Haha I am not one of those people – who knows every author by heart and open huge conversation about the fifty hidden messages in a book. . . and I am quite happy I am not ;)

  3. I envy you in that way. To re-read a book solely by the enjoyment of the content. KUDOS! I prefer biographies or overcoming tragedy novels and every know and then, personal perspectives on life. I don’t know book lingo so the subject matter are something I’ll need to learn. Google time!

  4. OCD is good for you! That is my motto – at least one of them ;) I also need to say that one of the greatest things about finishing my studies is the fact that I can now read a book purely for entertainment purposes – and not feel bad about it. (Study guilt!)

  5. You know looking back on this post today, those photos really don’t do the bookcase justice, I’ll be updating this post with a head on photo. OCD…maybe a bit?

  6. I actually do enjoy the backwards books – but how do you know where to find “the one” when you want something to read? Maybe you’re not like me – I sometimes get the intense need to get one spesific book out for a second or fifth read. . .

  7. Thanks! Let’s see how long it lasts until I start favoring color…
