Every weekend we head into town to our local fruit&vegetable stand. The vendor, whose uncommonly plump and tall figure smiles every time he says, “poso?” (anything else) While he puts my pickings into thick lunch-bag styled paper bags and weighs it at the corner of his stand, I smile admiring his teddy bear kindness. Sensing the crowds gathering closer for their turn, I thank him and as I walk away and yell out Chi Vediamo (see you later) I know he never hears me. I must be saying goodbye to the fruit&vegetables. Hahaha. Smile.
Here’s a simple salad we’ve been enjoying throughout the summer. Just tossed with a squeeze of lemon or sometimes added with ranch dressing and real bacon bits..Delicious!
