Vintage Bar Cart

I’ve wanted a vintage bar cart for years. This past Sunday we headed to the vintage/flea market in Catania for the 1st time. There it was, in all her brass and vintaged glory. Negotiating down to 23 euro, she was sold to me. With just a little bit of metal polish using a dry cloth, I restored her whilst keeping some of the tarnished condition in order to preserve her history. That ring or stain on the bottom wood? Just dust outlines; gone. How old is this…..?

Similar here or here or here– WOW!!!!

Cocktail anyone?

Before the clean up….

This took a lot of silver polish!

Decor!

 Crystal glasses….

Shinier! Patron anyone?

You know it, we bought that Woodford Reserve and Patron! Yay! Although, I won’t be drinking any of it. 🙂 I’m into wine.

Thanks so much! I shined it up a bit more today and added white flowers. 🙂

WOW, truly beautiful steal! Good for you. You put the intent out there and won in spades. Congratulations, and thank you for the inspiration to take the time to shine in vintage. Probably the best form of recycling.

30 euro which I still thought was a steal! When I told the guy I said Id think about it then he said 25. I told him Id come back. Just before leaving the market we had 23 euro left and offered it to him..SOLD! Im researching these bar carts now to see what its worth might have really been. What do you think, good deal?

It might be a good deal. It depends on how old it is, what it’s made of…
I do the same. I go to a flea market, buy something and then come back and research it to see how valuable it is. Sometimes I have nice surprises when I find out that it’s worth much more than I payed for.

Its definitely made of real brass with wood trays. One time I bought an glass ornate/brass coffee table turns out is was a modern 3 piece set selling for $1,499 online brand new. I ended up selling it on Craigs list for $100.00. It was my intent. What was your best find?

      • nice & calm says:

Well I haven’t found something really, really valuable yet. I’m relatively new to this and I think you have to have a trained eye and lots of luck for that sort of things, but that’s the beauty of flea markets: you always go there with the hope to find THE treasure 🙂

OMG- I just found some links to some identical carts on my page. Check out those prices! I scored! I hope you get lucky too. Im going to go shine the heck out of that brass again.
