Chateau de Vincennes
Dating back to the 12th century and just a little older than the Louvre, this historical monument holds a lot of history. (Oh my! I have Louvre posts to share too!) This grand, medieval palace claims a dungeon that imprisoned famous French writers and painters, many wrongly accused of their crimes. Chateau de Vincennes was the centre of political power and a military post. Even today the complex contains a functioning chapel and adjacent to the chapel lies an outpost of the current Ministry of defense. My friend and I scoured the grounds, free of charge even, for an hour before discovering the Parc de floral Paris…… ( I’ll post more about that another time )
Off to Belgium tomorrow and looking forward in opportunities for more picture taking…. Auvoir!
Why are there Canadian Geese . . . in France?!?
