Once I arrived to Paris I joined up with a sort-of, what I call: a walking excursion club. Our first meet-up had been spent in an area surrounded by a lush forest, a calming lake and a tree dating back to 1556. The day focused on searching for mushrooms and spotting Bourgogne snails. But we didn’t find any! Eh, It’s okay! We enjoyed the bright sun, intermingled with new people and wandered about the upscale suburban neighborhood of Les Clayes-sous-Bois. All thanks to our club leader and guide, Christophe, who led our 5 hour excursion through this beautiful village just outside Paris, France.
Direct Photo Above: Diane de Poitiers Parc. (park) Diane was a French noblewoman and a prominent courtier at the courts of kings Francis I and his son, Henry II of France. She died on 25 April 1566. This perhaps why, a seed turned into a magnificent tree in the park was planted in her honor?
Come and visit the Forest of Arcy!
