Airbnb Restyled, La Cabane

Welcome to the red “cabane” along the Atlantic coastline of Fecamp, France.

Part of creating a space involves a lived-in and inviting feeling. That is what I like to create by using what’s already in the home and by also adding a few additional touches that promote areas where people envision a place to relax and utilise the space.

Below are some before & after photos of an interior and exterior redo that I feel, would add more value and traffic to a particular rental. I’ll share some of the original photos listed on this particular Airbnb and then underneath you’ll find my restyled photos.

In future posts, I will compare before & after pictures side by side.

Below are the after photos with examples on how I made small changes that enhance the spaces.

Now imagine that you viewed a listing with photographs, I provided. Would you like to stay there?

Buffalo? No a Musk Ox moved in.

2018! My oh my, where has the time gone? With a lot of changes in 2017 such as buying our flat,  remodeling and settling in whilst mixing in some traveling to places such as Milan, Dubai, Singapore and California, the year has whisked by! I can’t imagine what this year will bring but I’m most definitely looking forward to bringing some new things to the new year as well!

If you know me by now, you know that I have a soft spot for animals, particularly for dogs. So when I was asked to collaborate on a print project with the lovely folks at Printler, I surprised my self by choosing  (what I thought was a buffalo but really) a Musk Ox print from their company. A web shop dedicated to “framed art and artistic posters” from photographers all around the world! With hundreds of incredible and interesting options to choose from, I took my time going through their selection and for some reason, I kept going back to this Myskoxe, by Sweden photographer Håkan Olsson.

I’ve never owned an animal print and now I’m realizing that this gorgeous bull-headed animal with its strong understated gaze, broad shoulders and demanding pose as photographed here reminded me so much of our little blue French Bulldog Laffy. Am I silly? Nah.Laffy and OxFrenchbull dog on sheepskin rug.Muskoxe Musk Ox Håkan OlssonIMG_5010

Thank you! Thank you so much Printler! I enjoyed styling this print! Gros Bisous!

Groom with Comptoir des Dogs

IMG_2481

Last week we received a couple of new products from the lovely Laure behind her new line, LILA LOVES IT at Comptoir Des Dogs. Laure’s grooming products are made from both natural oils and plant-based herbs.

We were the lucky recipients of both the Shampoo Sensitive and the Paw Care.

Both formulas are neutral in colour, mild in scent and come in easy to use containers with classic monochromatic label and natural packaging. I particularly like the paw care! It wasn’t until I began using it that I noticed the positive changes to Laffy’s paws. With ingredients such as apricot kernel and coconut oils, its obvious how those essential oils help balm and coat his pads. The waxy form softens easily on the fingertips and even helped coat my hands!

I’ve always selected a non-fragrant shampoo or natural solutions containing soothing oatmeal for sensitive skin. I was a bit apprehensive trying a new Shampoo without smelling it beforehand but this one passed the ‘non-parfume’ rule! It has a very mild scent and smells more natural than perfumery. Definately a plus for pups with a quirk for rubbing themselves over everything and everywhere just to remove the scent off from thier coat and skin. With ingredients such as avocado oil, chamomile and yarrow extract,  a lot goes a long way and I would recommend a tablespoon /if that/ for a french bulldog.
